Name: Diana Prince
Canon: DC Extended Universe
Age: ~5000 years
Appearance: An Amazon.
Canon Point: After the events of the Wonder Woman movie, roughly 1919.
Background: Wonder Woman Wiki!
Personality:
- Raised in isolation on the island of Themiscyra, Diana’s sense of justice, fairness and morality were not informed by the pragmatism of the World of Men, leading to a certain philosophical purity, even if it’s later tempered by her adult experiences in WWI. She remains strong and has a clear, consistent moral compass.
- Every inch a warrior princess, Diana is strong-willed and determined to fight for what she believes in, willing to disobey her mother and leave the Amazons to pursue what’s right.
- Diana struggles and eventually refuses to turn aside when confronted with the horrors of war.
- She is a deep believer in compassion and care, going against Steve Trevor’s advice to free a village occupied by German forces—in particular the news of slavery motivates her to act.
- While originally naive, Diana is deeply affected when she discovers it has not been Ares’ influence that made humanity capable of atrocities. While her initial disgust and anger passed, the knowledge leaves her a more subdued and less idealistic woman.
- Facing Ares, Diana also learns that her mother and the other Amazons were also not entirely honest with her, further damaging the notion of a simple, clear cut world.
- The loss of Steve Trevor also struck her deeply. Among the more or less immortal Amazons, Diana only lost those she loved when men arrived and killed her aunt, but in Steve she lost not only someone she loved, but she lost him in a way for which she feels responsible. As a result, she no longer finds it easy to make herself vulnerable or put herself in a position where other people might be called on to die for her.
Weaknesses/Temptations:
- Despite her strong will and belief in love and compassion, Diana’s experiences in WWI have left her somewhat disillusioned about her own power to change the world and save those she loves.
- As a direct result of the above, she guarded with her emotions.
- She is also hesitant to put others at risk or to trust them.
- While Diana has a strong belief in equality, she is not immune to pride and haughtiness. This led directly to her misunderstanding of her enemy in Ares.
- Having still spent relatively little time in the World of Men, Diana can still be naive in some respects.
- While generally well motivated, Diana is capable of wrath when she is provoked.
Sins:
- Disobedience - Diana disobeyed her mother and tutors in escaping her lessons.
- Deception - Diana hid the fact her aunt Antiope was training her.
- Dishonoring her Mother - Diana left Themiscyra against her mother’s wishes.
- Abandoning the Amazons - Diana left Themiscyra knowing she may not return.
- Pride - Despite her lack of experience with the World of Men, Diana entered the Great War thinking she would be able to fix it with a simple solution.
- Judgment - Diana condescends toward Steve, Sameer and Charlie for their perceived moral shortcomings.
- Murder - Diana has killed many enemy combatants.
- Failure to Protect Veld - The village was destroyed by Ludendorff and Dr. Poison when Diana failed to prevent them from gassing the village.
- Wrath - Diana lashes out at Steve because of her own guilt and pride, an action which broke up the team when they most needed to work together.
- Wrath II - Diana defeats Ludendorff, but the fight is fueled by her anger and resentment at finding out the world is more complicated than she expected.
- Despair - Finding out what humanity is like, Diana loses faith.
- Failure to Save Steve - Her decisions led to his sacrifice.
- Sloth - Following the Great War, Diana became more hesitant to take action, hiding from the world even if she never abandoned it entirely.
Powers/Abilities: Diana is the demigod, daughter of Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, and the god Zeus. In addition to her unique bloodline, she also has thousands of years of study and training to build her skills.
